After the antique: A figure of Diana De Gabies, late 19th century. The goddess in classical drapes holding her shoulder and standing next to a tree trunk on rectangular base. The original of this statue was excavated by Gavin Hamilton in 1792 on Prince Borghese's property at Gabii outside Rome. On September 27th it was purchased by Napoleon Bonaparte and was on display in the Louvre by 1820.
